My daughter convinced me I could learn Spanish in just 12 weekly 3 hour lessons. I was skeptical, until I met Slade, the proprietor of the Spanish Academy. Eccentric, flamboyant and mysteriously delightful is how I would describe him; but I daresay, I still am not doing justice to his brilliance... Before we left the first lesson we could understand whole passages he read to us in Spanish; it was freaky. Well needless to say, the rest of the course lived up to its promise and after 12 weeks, if not completely conversant, we could fully understand virtually anything he wanted to discuss in Spanish.

I recommend The Spanish Academy wholeheartedly! We really were able to speak Spanish with confidence after the first lesson, never mind after the first course with Slade, and enjoyed it so much that we continued with his Advanced course! To anyone thinking its difficult to learn a new language, Slade has you covered! Gracias Slade!

Slade is the most phenomenal teacher I have ever had! His techniques are incredible and allow even the hardest concepts to appear easy and the course is so cleverly thought out and executed! As an added extra there are his unreal dad jokes which really just bring the whole thing together!! 10/10!!

After meeting Slade virtually as an enigmatic lecturer, he has become a mentor and not only that has taught me to speak Spanish! A language that I can speak, understand and read, albeit a newbie, we have so much fun while learning and an added bonus that our group supports each other. Slade is a great teacher with a unique style in helping you to absorb Spanish. I have tried other methods of learning Spanish in the past and failed abysmally until now. I thoroughly enjoyed the introductory level programme and will no doubt move on to intermediate at some point in the future.

I took private lessons with Slade a few months prior to moving to Central America. Slade is an outstanding teacher and has developed an excellent method of teaching. He knows exactly how the brain works with languages. I was fortunate to have started my spanish language journey with Slade because his lessons lay a strong foundation for my further learning of the language now that I live in Central America. I started Spanish lessons with Slade in June this year and within a very short time was actually able to speak Spanish. Slade is a very inspiring teacher who constantly motivates his students. I find the voice notes to be a very helpful tool in the learning process. The classes are fun with lots of laughs and insights into the Spanish speaking countries and the different ways of communicating. I would recommend these classes to anyone who wants to learn quickly in a fun and relaxed environment.

I started my beginners course with Slade in February And it was the best decision I have ever made.
